We are looking for a Test Manager with a strong background in Electronics and proven track record of managing a team and meeting targets.

This role requires flexibility and strong leadership skills.

Aim of the job:

Effectively manage Test and Inspection requirements on behalf of Philtronics Ltd in line with Production, Quality and H&S processes and procedures.


Key tasks:

  • Drive weekly Customer output and coordinate with Production in order to facilitate Customer deliveries.
  • Provide 1st line support to Inspectors and Technicians in inspection, fault finding, diagnosis, and test where time constraints are critical.
  • Efficiently manage equipment use in order to reduce operational cost and downtime.
  • Develop inspection diagnostics and testing methods for production for use within the department and the production shop floor.
  • Manage calibration and maintenance schedules in accordance with Philtronics Ltd ISO requirements.
  • Produce jigs, tools and equipment for Test and Inspection and test and inspection infrastructure planning and maintenance.
  • Drive preventative and corrective actions carried out in order to mitigate the occurrence of Customer QFRs, improving quality and ensuring the inspection and test processes and Standard Operating Procedures are evident and available for use by the department.
  • Work with the senior team in order to implement and control timely NPI builds and new levels of testing into the business.
  • HR Management of Inspection and Test workforce in line with Philtronics Ltd policies and procedures.
  • Identify Test and Inspection workforce training needs.
  • Drive and continuously improve standards of workmanship and monitoring of quality control initiatives and pro-active management of 5S standards for cleanliness, ensuring compliance to Health & Safety standards.
  • Demonstrate personal leadership attributes and encourage Inspectors and Test Engineers professional behaviour.
  • Co-ordinate with other Departments in order to facilitate issue resolution and participate in cross functional team projects.

Having started as Production Operator in 2010 and progressed to Team Leader, then Inspector, Kayleigh has been integral to the growth and development of the Philtronics team. We recently sat down with Kayleigh to learn more about her Philtronics journey, what she’s enjoyed about her time here so far, and how the different development opportunities have shaped her role. Q. Tell us about your role at Philtronics. A. My role involves training not only new starters but also training experienced Philtronics employees. I recently passed my IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified Trainer exam, so I can provide training on ensuring and certifying the quality and reliability of box build assemblies.
