Philtronics strike an innovative tech deal with Ospreys Rugby

May 05, 2021
We are proud to announce that we are the regional rugby franchise’s new Title Partner and front of jersey in a groundbreaking deal for the new season.

As part of the new Title Partnership, the Ospreys and Philtronics will form a ‘think tank” to drive innovation and to maximize the commercial opportunities of the new partnership.

The Ospreys and Philtronics will embark on developing new cutting-edge technology to expand and boost the analysis and entertainment value of rugby.

Both the Ospreys and Philtronics share an ‘Innovation and Made in Wales’ philosophy and are proud to and have made a real commitment to develop Welsh talent.

Simon Pritchard, the Philtronics owner and Managing Director, said:

“There is a very real alignment between Philtronics and the Ospreys, with our shared culture, ethics and philosophy. Both organisations have a proven track record of building and developing Welsh talent and showcasing it on the global stage.

“We both pride ourselves on being innovators in our particular fields and of representing our people, pushing the boundaries to make a difference in our communities.

“To have Philtronics on the front of the Ospreys jersey is a real privilege for myself on a personal level and we share a desire to develop into a wider market.

“This is a unique and bespoke partnership and to be able to explore what new technology can do for rugby is a genuinely exciting prospect for Philtronics.

“The opportunity to make a very real difference and to use cutting edge technology to enhance the player’s performance or to enhance the supporter’s enjoyment of the game brings a new dimension to this partnership.

“Our relationship with the Ospreys has always been much more than just rugby and we both endeavor to have a very real and significant impact on improving people’s lives in our communities.”

Like the Ospreys, Philtronics was founded in 2003 and have evolved and established themselves as industry leaders with a reputation for blue-sky thinking.

Philtronics first came on board with the Ospreys seven years ago as a hospitality partner and sponsor before becoming a Premium Partner and kit partner for the last three years.

Together they have forged a close and rewarding partnership that goes deeper than rugby, helping charitable causes and having a major impact in the community.

Philtronics has played a key role with Ospreys in the Community supporting their partnership with Action for Children and helping to develop Walking Rugby.

Nick Garcia, Ospreys Chief Executive, said:

“We are delighted to agree an extended and elevated partnership with Philtronics as they become title partner of the Ospreys. The synergy between two Welsh brands with a global ambition and a desire to innovate has endless possibilities.

“Philtronics has a track record of breaking new ground in technology and the Ospreys have a reputation for innovation in rugby. As well as offering a unique marketing platform for Philtronics, this partnership will embody our shared ambition for innovation. The Ospreys and Philtronics will work together to explore new sports technology solutions, with the potential to drive competitive advantage on the pitch and enhanced supporter experience off it.

“As we embark on a new era for the Ospreys, we’re delighted to do it with a like-minded company in Philtronics.”
